 Super Deep Dive might be based on {{m|Dive}}, a [[move]] in the [[Pokémon games]] that {{p|Wailord}} can learn via [[HM]] (in [[Generation III]]) or [[move tutor]] (in [[Generation IV]]). Dwindling Wave's effect of weakening as Wailord takes damage mirrors that of {{m|Water Spout}}, which Wailord can also learn.
