Verdanturf Town: Difference between revisions

{{ga|Wally}} is sent to live here with his aunt, uncle, and cousin [[Wanda]] in order to improve his health. This town is well known for its very clean air. The town features a [[Contest Hall]] in {{game|Ruby and Sapphire|s}}. However, the Contest Hall is replaced with a [[Battle Tent]] in {{game|Emerald}}.  

There are two ways out of Verdanturf. To the east is {{rt|117|Hoenn}} towards [[Mauville City]]. To the north is the [[Rusturf Tunnel]], which was being constructed to link [[Rustboro City]] and Verdanturf. However, the construction disturbed the local {{p|Whismur}} who lived in the tunnel, and so it was canceled. Wanda's boyfriend tried to dig the tunnel himself, but was unable to do it. After the [[player character]] of {{game2|Ruby|Sapphire|Emerald}} gets the {{Badge|Dynamo}}, he or she can use {{m|Rock Smash}} to complete the tunnel and open a path to {{rt|116|Hoenn}}.

===Friendship Rater===

In the town, there is a woman who rates the [[friendship]] of Pokémon. She is located in the house situated to the left of Wanda's house.

[[Wanda]] and most of her family live in the south side of the town.

In the games, {{ga|Wally}} is sent to Verdanturf Town to live with his cousin, Wanda, and his aunt and uncle.

===Contest Hall===

[[Pokémon Coordinator]]s flock to the town for [[Pokémon Contests]]. All Contest challenges originate in Verdanturf, as it is where the [[Rank (Contest)|Normal Rank]] Pokémon Contests, essential for moving on, are located, and where Pokémon Coordinators can register their [[Contest Pass]]es. In Emerald, however, the Contest Hall is replaced with a [[Battle Tent]].

{{Ash}}, [[Max]], {{an|May}} and {{an|Brock}} arrived in Verdanturf Town on their way to [[Petalburg City]]. May competed in the Verdanturf Pokémon Contest in ''[[AG061|Disaster of Disguise]]'' and ''[[AG062|Disguise Da Limit!]]'' and met up and competed with a mysterious {{pkmn|Coordinator}} called "[[Timmy Grimm|The Phantom]]". In the anime, Verdanturf has shown to have a fairly luxurious neighborhood, and appears much larger than it does in the games.

 

* The [[Poké Mart]] of this town is the only one in Hoenn where {{DL|Poké Ball|Nest Ball}}s can be purchased.

* Verdanturf's Japanese motto is {{tt|くさの においの かぜふく こうげん|Kusa no nioi no kaze fuku kougen}} ''"The highlands where the grass-scented wind blows"''.
