Welcome to Bulbapedia, Shawn!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! --Pikiwyn talk 22:04, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Second warning; Please use the preview button. It's directly to the right of the save button. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 10:23, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Instead of editing a page multiple times to change information in multiple sections, please edit the entire page via the edit tab and use the preview button to make sure everything is right before saving. Your multi-editing is clogging up the Recent Changes. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 21:00, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

When you remove trivia...

When you remove trivia like this, it's helpful if you provide a counterexample. Without that, no one can really tell whether you just thought it wasn't notable or if you actually knew something that proved it false. And for something like this, with over 470 chapters, most people won't want to look through all of them to try to find that example. So it usually helps if you can mention it in your edit summary. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:33, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

PS524.

A question: do you have Pokemon Adventures volume 51, or did you make that article based on the bits and pieces of pictures posted on the internet? Ataro (talk) 03:23, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Yes, yes I do. Shawn (talk) 03:25, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

I'll believe you. For now. But for future reference: if you're going to do an article for a volume, at least do all of them. Or at least start from the first chapter and not the very last one. And remember to include every human and Pokemon. I am reading Coronis' summaries, and unless they're wrong, you omitted several characters. I'll fix up what you added to make it Bulbapedia standard. Pokémon Adventures move debuts

I'm going to add move debuts to every PSxxx article, because I know that the writers of Adventures make every effort to debut every move used. Shawn (talk) 06:24, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

1) Have you received permission to this from anyone? Just announcing it on your user talk page where hardly anyone will see it is not enough. While no admin has yet done anything to disapprove your edits, as a general rule, I'd think you should ask if this kind of big thing is okay to do. 2) Please, don't remove the "Pokémon debuts" sections even if they are empty. They've been left there for the sake of consistency. PS. I personally support your idea, but please, don't forget the two points I mentioned above. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:08, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Hey there! Please understand that for large edits like this that affect many pages, you need to get approval from a staff member first. I'll be undoing all of these since it does not appear you've gotten permission. Please keep this in mind in the future. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:12, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
I'm going to have to say no to that. As Pumpkinking said, we don't do this, and there's little reason to start now. The individual move sections already cover this. Also, while it may be true that the writers have been trying to showcase each any every move, circumstances with the release of the series have made this much harder to do. Ataro (talk) 19:23, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
OK then, I've wasted two days. Shawn (talk) 19:25, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

"Weak and wobbly"

Well, it looks like I don't have free reign over my contributions after all. I will only contribute where the page says that I should "feel free to". A lot of the manga summaries are still missing, so I'll keep at that. Shawn (talk) 20:24, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

User talk pages are not places to announce things you're doing. It's a place for people to come to you to discuss about subjects involving this site. For personal announcements, I'd prefer that you'd create yourself a user page for that. There you can freely write about what you want to do to contribute to Bulbapedia. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 05:29, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

fling

I saved before testing and Fling fails if the user holds a TM. Pikachu210 (talk) 23:21, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
