Hey, I've taken an interest in helping with the archives, one of the things I think could be useful would be if I uploaded new revisions of PNG files that have been optimized for the smallest file size (with no to very little quality difference), such as converting RGB PNG's to Indexed Color PNG's (custom palletes). Anime images are very indexed-color friendly, their size can be signifigantly shrunk with little, if no impact on quality. Is this something worth doing, and would it be alright if I performed such optimizations? It may help with bandwidth/space issues. GetOutOfBox 23:21, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

:I'll bring it up with some of the other Archives staff members. While obviously smaller images will improve loading times and result in reduced bandwidth requirements, I don't think that's the main cause of the loading issues. For the record, space isn't (at least currently) an issue - every revision of every page is saved, even deleted ones. Werdnae (talk) 23:42, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
