'''Team Rocket''' is the name given to the fifth main expansion of the [[Pokémon Trading Card Game]]. In Japan, it was released as '''Rocket Gang'''. It features [[Generation I]] Pokémon, themed around the exploits of [[Team Rocket]], and introduces {{TCG|Dark Pokémon}}. The English expansion was released on April 24, 2000, while the Japanese expansion was released on November 21, 1997. The English release was stalled for six months since the release of the {{TCG|Fossil}} expansion, due to [[Wizards of the Coast]] having to await for approval from Nintendo to print Dark Raichu.

Dark Pokémon were prefixed with "Dark" instead of the original translated prefix "Bad" or the potentially sensitive prefix, ''Evil'' as in the Japanese release. This expansion was the first released by [[Wizards of the Coast]] to include a {{TCG|Secret card}} (a Rarity for a card number to exceed the maximum number of the expansion) and was the first to be created by Wizards: Dark Raichu. Dark Raichu was later released in Japan in the {{TCG|Crossing the Ruins...}} expansion. This expansion was also the first Japanese expansion to include a Super Rare rarity (signified by a white star); {{TCG ID|Team Rocket|Here Comes Team Rocket!|15}}. Finally, this expansion is also the first to feature a Holofoil {{TCG|Trainer card}} and {{TCG|Energy card}}s. Several cards were misspelled with the plural form of Pokémon names by adding an unneeded '''s''' to the end of species names in Attacks or Pokédex entries.
