Question about trivia
I have a question about the trivia.  It says that Venusaur has bloodshot eyes in recent 3D games.  What does that mean?Pokemon champ 07:34, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Another Question about trivia
Is it significant that only Red, Blue, and LeafGreen refer to the flower on its back as "a plant" rather than "its flower", making it sound more like a <span class="explain" title="could also be mutualistic, or communalistic">parasite</span> than part of itself? :Not really. Plants and flowers are pretty much the same thing. It doesn't come across parasitic to me, which makes this an opinionated trivia.... i.e. a bad piece of trivia. &mdash; <small><font color="#0000C8">THE TROM</font></small> &mdash; 03:34, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

The 'In the anime' Picture
I'm sorry to say, but I think that the picture in the anime section isn't very good. Venusaur is standing on its hind legs, something which most Venusaurs do not do.  I found a couple pictures on the archives that could fit. This image seems to be the best picture, though, since it is .png. Littlmiget123 21:15, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Trivia mascot
Hi I just wanted to ask that here first before I change the actual site, but someone could mention that as Venusaur's german name is Bisaflor and the german name of the LeafGreen game is Blattgrün, it is one of the pokemon who share their initial with the pokemon game of which they are the mascot. Just wanted to know if that is useful      Wuruhi 01:44:30 July 6 2010

Sprite Trivia?
I noticed there's sprite trivia regarding the subtle changes in Venusaur's skin over the generations. I thought we were trying to avoid this? Just because of it's ears and basic evolution doesn't mean it's not a toad. Wartortle and Blastoise have ears too! Poliwag, Poliwhirl, and Poliwrath are all tadpoles and Mudkip, Marshtomp, and Swampert resemble basic axolotls.Bennell 20:54, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

I separated the type effectiveness table for Venusaur and Mega Venusaur, for consistency with other pages (such as Gengar and Sceptile). == Ken Sugimori and Venusaur ==
According to this Japanese Page :
That although Ken Sugimori said he dislike Venusaur because it's complicated to draw, but in Pokemon XY strategy Book he mentioned that Venusaur is one of his favorite Pokemon.
Since i don't read/speak Japanese and that page is translated by Google, someone could confirm this please?
Here's the quote if you don't want to visit the page:
Ken Sugimori who is in charge of Pokemon 's character design seems to dislike Fushigibana on the grounds that "it is hard to draw because of many lines". However, in XY 's strategy book , it seems to be somewhat different except for drawing it because he mentioned Fushigibana as a favorite Pokemon.
:This is in no way contradictory as one can like a Pokémon for how it looks or what it is and at the same time not like to draw because it has too many lines. --<span style="color:#FF6464">R</span><span style="color:#11BB11">alts</span><span style="color:#6464FF">eye</span> prata med mej 01:07, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Isn't it worth mentioning that Venusaur is actually based off Biollante from the Godzilla franchise?
Or could be at least the contribution?
Please refer to this site https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biollante
Nevermind this opinion if mentioning the other fictions is strongly prohibited here. Centuryoffame
:They don't seem at all similar, other than being plant-animal hybrids. == Venusaur's origins confirmed to be a frog ==
I found a Japanese interview featuring Kiritani and Ken Sugimori, where the former asks Ken several questions relating to the franchise, including a discussion involving the design basis behind Venusaur.
"Kiritani:
What is Fushigibana, what is it?
Did you say "living thing" earlier?
Sugimori:
What is it ... (laugh).
Oh, it is a creature that is something like a frog.
Kiritani:
Is it a frog? Is the flower blooming in the frog?
Sugimori:
Yes. So before the evolution of Fushigibana,
The bulbs are stuck on creatures like frogs.
Kiritani:
The bulb will make the flowers bloom on the frog! What?
Sugimori:
Yes, the motif is a frog.
Kiritani
Frog ... Frog .... It is a frog.
This is a new discovery!"
And in another interview, Ken Sugimori describes the origin and the basic "themes" of the original starters.
>Sugimori: “The experience of keeping small animals such as frogs, lizards, and baby turtles as pets gives the game a sense of reality and makes it easier to get into the game. I realized it might be difficult to make an emotional connection if the first partner Pokémon is a tough-looking character.”
Adding to that, there was recent LGPLGE footage showcasing the 'following pokemon' feature, starring the female protagonist and a Venusaur that was hopping like a toad, further supporting the fact that the Bulbasaur line is amphibian-like.
The 'saur' is a mistranslation of the Japanese name, as it does not reflect it's actual appearance, and that the alleged Dicynodonts origin is just fan speculation, now that we have actual confirmation from Ken Sugimori himself.

Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee bag sprites
It had come to my attention that the new bag sprites from Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee have not been uploaded anywhere on the website for use, other then the exceptions of Meltan and Melmetal. I have a sprite sheet of every Pokèmon in the game, but I'm unfamiliar with the image uploading process here on Bulbapedia, and I'd like some advice/instructions on how to do it. Username is Brin Brin
:Images must be uploaded at the Archives. That said, I don't know how LGPE bag sprites are being dealt with, you should probably contact an admin.
:I also didn't get what this has to do with Venusaur, so this may not be the best place for you to ask that. And remember to sign your comments with four tildes (~). Suic (talk) 01:52, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
::Sorry about that, but I'm relatively unfamiliar with how the discussion page works. As for relevancy, I noticed that Venusaur lacked it's updated LGPE sprite, but there probably a more relevant place to discuss it. How exactly would I get in contact with an admin on the site? Brin (talk) 02:06, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
:::It depends on where you've sourced the sprites from, whether you got them from the game yourself or if it's from a place that has uploaded them and allows others to use them. For example, the spritesheet on The Spriters Resource doesn't state whether the upload it wants it to be reuploaded other places so we wouldn't want to use that one. --Spriteit (talk) 08:39, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Signature move
In the biology section, we always say "X was its signature move in the past" or "in the past, X was its signature move". Is there a reason why we word it so vaguely? Why don't we specifiy which generations that it was its signature move? <span style="font-family:Tahoma"><font color="orangered">Land</font><span style="font-family:Tahoma"><small><font color="darkviolet">fish7</font></small></span></span> 08:12, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
:I'm guessing it's because if it's specified, then it would to include games where they do count as the signature move, which would get cluttered as the generations increase.Animaltamer7 (talk) 10:21, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
::Please see Bulbapedia talk:Project Moves and Abilities#Signature guidelines, so we don't need to split discussions for more than two pages. Thank you. --<span style="font-family:Corbel,sans-serif"><span style="color:#4ed">Bfdi</span><span style="color:#3f3">fan</span><span style="color:#ea4">2006</span></span> 10:33, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
:::The discussion started here. Moving it somewhere else now would itself be splitting the discussion across multiple pages. And ForceFire seems to agree with me that it should be more specific to the generation. Making it specific to individual games/versions would be clunky and cluttersome.
