Why would they? Jindai/Brandon was the only Frontier Brain from the games left. Even if he wasn't revealed in the anime as of then, all the Frontier Brains who had appeared thus far had been Frontier Brains in the games. I don't know why I'm bringing this up, but try imagining a Bidoof wth sunglasses. I can't be the only one who thinks it looks an absurd amount like Scott in your mind...
