::About the house, I guess I was mis-informed. Thank you for clearing that up. But I know for a fact that the intro for Pokémon Red (both English and Japanese) and the intro for Pokémon Blue (again, both English and Japanese) are different.--Hitmonlee 02:27, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, the intros were, in fact, different. I know this. JesusofSuburbia 17:43, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

:Hi, just to add on this, don't you guys think it would be useful to have a section (or even a page) that points out ALL differences between the two versions (not just Red an Blu, the others too)? I suggest this because the Pokémon that can be captured is not the only difference between the two games (as can be seen above). There's also stuff like encounter rates on Pokémon that are different (I don't know all of the differences, that's why I'm suggesting that some people should add them in). Just a suggestion!! ::Are you sure it wasn't a trainer / Mew glitch? Also, are you sure it was a non-Japanese Blue version? OwnageMuch 06:46, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
No, it's been probably 10 years, but Oddish was definitely there because Vileplume was in my team (or "team" I should say, when I played Blue as a child I just trained by Blastoise to lvl 100 and kept the other five strongest pokemon I caught in my party but didn't train them at all, but this is besides the point). I definitely remember Oddish in the game. Mankey may have been trade-exclusive. But Oddish was not. Frenchhorn 02:45, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

I was playing through Pokemon Red, but then when it showed the Dex Entry, it made Graveler's cry. What happened? Is this a glitch or something?

I found the following string while hex editing my Pokemon Red (Note: I touched it up as best I could to get rid of all the random garbage):

I think it may be ideas for Pokemon when the game was being created, if i have time i will check to see if the same text is in Blue and Yellow. Any other ideas? 44h why

US release date
<s>I think the best bet is to leave the official date of September 30, 1998 (which is what Pokémon.com and the exhibit at ), but I keep coming across sources that indicate other release dates and I thought it would be a good idea to gather them somewhere. Note that it may be the case that the release was postponed for two days after the initial announcement.</s> Note that the September 1 release date is definitely wrong as the games were released after the anime in NA, and the anime is known to have debuted on September 7 (it is possible that only the month was specified by the person inputting data to that page, and it defaulted to the 1st).

The title of the page should stay the same.
It has been suggested that the title of this article be renamed "Pokémon Red and Blue." I'm okay with the suggestion, but even though other territories don't use the word "version," North America does, so we should refer to them by their full North American names. Thank you.
