I've noticed that Pokemon that consist of more than one organism, but are technically one Pokemon in terms of gameplay and mechanics, can still be captured in a Pokeball. Examples I'm thinking of are Kangaskhan (mother creature and baby, not physically linked in terms of biology), Dugtrio (three creatures without any visible physical link), etc. I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them at this time.
