Not Drill Peck
Saw the episode that Piplup supposedly uses Drill Peck in (with subtitles) and the subtitles didn't say it was Drill Peck. Rather, it was called "spinning Peck", which reminded me of something that Piplup did in a contest once. I know the subtitles aren't a reliable source, but just putting it out there. Dilophosaurus Rex (talk) 10:36, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
:However, Dawn actually ordered Piplup to use Drill Peck (Doriru Kuchibashi/Drill Beak in Japanese). As you said, the subtitles can be wrong.--<font color="#AB0909">電</font><font color="#063A73">禅</font><small><font color="#fff" face="Tahoma"><span style="text-shadow:#000 0.2em 0.1em 0.1em; class=texhtml">Den Zen</span></font></small> 10:54, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
::Yes, subs are not always accurate. And as Dennou said, she actually commanded Piplup to use "Doriru Kuchibashi". So, there is no doubt about the move, unless it's an error in the script which is very very very unlikely. <span style="color:#009900">♫♪</span> <span style="color:#A80000;">エイデ</span><span style="color:#003399;">ィニズ</span> <span style="color:#009900">♪♫</span> 16:40, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Counter Shield?
In the Improvised moves section it shows that in Piplup vs. Pansage episode it showed at the very bottom of the list Piplup using Bubblebem while spinning as a variation of Counter Shield, but this combination was used in Like or Lup it, I think it is the very same technique, so shouldn't it retain its name but being placed on the top of the list?--Igor (talk) 13:33, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Why is Ash's Pokémon on this article?
At the bottom the article has both Dawn's Pokemon on hand and Ash's, why is that, this doesn't happen on May's page. Yamitora1 (talk) 08:58, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

XY Mention
Is it relevant to include Ash's remark about Piplup when he visits Ambrette Aquarium? I think it is a nice reference but thought it would be best to debate whether  or not it is relevant. (Piplup J (talk) 22:06, 25 March 2015 (UTC))

Episode Absences
What episodes is it absent in the DP series? --Feelitstill23 (talk) 04:18, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Feelitstill23
The page says there are 17 episodes in which Piplup does not appear, but I only found 16:
*DP008 Gymbaliar!
*DP013 A Staravia Is Born!
*DP014 Leave It To Brocko!
*DP015 Shapes of Things to Come!
*DP016 A Gruff Act to Follow!
*DP020 Mutiny in the Bounty!
*DP022 Borrowing on Bad Faith!
*DP028 Drifloon On The Wind!
*DP030 The Grass-Type Is Always Greener!
*DP037 The Grass Menagerie!
*DP040 Top-Down Training!
*DP045 Ill-Will Hunting!
*DP054 Once There Were Greenfields
*DP056 The Keystone Pops!
*DP058 Nosing 'Round the Mountain!
*DP059 Luxray Vision!
I double checked all of the episodes between DP008 and DP059, those were all I could find. While it could well be that there is one after DP059, but that would contradict the articles for both DP059, which states that it is the final episode of the series in which Piplup does not appear, and walking Pokémon, where it says that Dawn starts carrying Piplup around starting in DP060 (Journey to the Unown!), which to me implies that, aside from the times Dawn withdraws him before a Contest (or extenuating circumstances like in DP149 (Sticking With Who You Know!), where she withdrew Piplup into his ball in a failed attempt to separate him from Pikachu), Piplup chooses to stay outside of his Poké Ball, where he is always visible in the episode, at least briefly. (Sometimes very briefly, as in DP117 (Noodles! Roamin' Off!).) So I didn't bother to check the episodes after DP059.
The 17th absence could be DPS02, which was only aired in Japan and focuses on Brock after he returns to Pewter City and only features Piplup in the form of a photograph on his wall. The article for that episode does not list that as one where Piplup is absent, but if I remember correctly, appearances that are only in photographs or the like generally do not count as an appearance, at least not to the extent that the character being physically present is. And since the episode was released only in Japan, I could see someone failing to update the article for DP059 to account for it.
Extremely late answer, I know, but better late than never. Red Knight (talk) 11:34, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
