Seriously, even if it's gender was confirmed in the dub, why would it be different in the Japanese version?

:The excuse is "Well the dub can screw up". Not a good excuse since everyone knows it's a girl anyway, but bleh. There are just some people you can't convince of Pikachu's masculinity. ::Well, we still haven't had firm Word-Of-God on Pikachu either way, have we? Buneary, OTOH, should be fairly undeniable at this point. - Cassius335 13:15, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Sure, the evidence does point to Buneary being female, but I'll wait for it to be confirmed in the Japanese version first.

:Brock's mother:  OK, that one's truly an error.  Why does the dub refer to Flint's ***** as Brock's birth mother when Brock's real birth mother is supposed to be dead, and never even go as far as to provide an explaination?

Honestly, do we need this? It's not a similarity, it's a difference... I could go on all day about difference they have... "Both were caught at different locations!".GlaceonFanGal 17:43, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

::The thing is, the images that were removed were pointless, especially the one where it says it's wearing the vest, since she already is in the infobox. As for the others, I'll admit they were cute, but they didn't serve any real purpose, they just cluttered up the article.

Gender should be changed to "unknown"
Not too long ago I requested a source to verify when it was confirmed to be female. Apparently it was confirmed in a website that no longer exists. This most certainly makes the source invalid and without a valid source there is no way of confirming its gender, all information must be verifiable and without proof it should in my view be changed to "unknown". I would like to know if anyone agrees with me.Ratchet and Clank 1995 (talk) 09:56, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

:@Hikaru Wazana What do you mean?Ratchet and Clank 1995 (talk) 12:30, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
::Buneary is female. FACT.
::She wears feminine attire throughout her time in the anime, she has a relationship with Pikachu (one reportedly Pokémon MALE, for the record), Dawn always treated her like a Pokémon female. Some point in anime today showed that she was male?
::Please only see the images that are in the article itself(Buneary with dress, Buneary and Pikachu, Buneary with cheerleader clothes, etc).
::Not only that, the whole article is with feminine pronouns, moving this will have to rectify the entire article. Enough is enough the nonsense that is in Ash's Charizard article.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 11:52, 29 October 2016 (UTC)]]
:::Please note well that we do NOT assume any Pokemon's gender based solely on their attire and actions. It must be stated or it must be confirmed by Attract.
:::(And the pronouns in the article are worth nothing if no original source can be found anyway.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:10, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

Again, Pikachu is a MALE POKÉMON.
If there is anything in the anime to justify the doubts and create the possibility that Buneary is in fact male, I would like to know, in that case I close here. Otherwise, it is an argument completely pointless. Buneary is female.
In DP039(Steamboat Wiilies),
Buneary, Happiny and Aipom (the last two confirmed as females) dress on their own with female outfits. As the two Pokémon are females and remain doubts for Buneary? This discussion does not make sense.

:The long and short of it is: DO. NOT. Assume. Any discussion of any sort of "hints" is entirely pointless.
:As I said: it must either be stated or confirmed through Attract. Period.
:Thank you. Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:48, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
::What you call "hints" I call "evidence." But whatever, will wonder Buneary and Pikachu are gay, no? Indeed, who will be the next to have doubts about the gender, Ash and James, Jesse or Serena?I stopped here in this stupid discussion.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 16:14, 29 October 2016 (UTC)]]
:::It is adamantly not our policy to say that Pokemon or characters cannot be gay or cannot wear clothes that their sex is not "supposed" to wear. That is why we have the policy stated above.
:::Also, please use ":" for discussion indentation, not "*". Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:30, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
::::The whole history of Buneary turned around to show that she is a female Pokémon. To say that there is any doubt about this is to contradict what own anime revealed(There are nearly 50 episodes with evidence to prove it and zero episodes to justify or creates the possibility of the contrary.).
And I was being sarcastic, at all in 900 episodes of the anime did not exist a single evidence that there is something like "Gay Pokemon". As I said before, if there is any evidence to have a doubt about it I want to know, why should I have passed unnoticed--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 16:38, 29 October 2016 (UTC)]]
:::::We don't assume genders based off behavioral patterns, a guy can act like a girl. Have you ever seen or met a feminine male? And we will not assume that the writer will or won't add gay characters into the show regardless of the laws in Japan, it is not our call to make.--<span style="color:#AB2813">F</span><span style="color:#C87365">orce</span><span style="color:#26649C">F</span><span style="color:#729ABF">ire</span> 16:49, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
::As I said, zero evidence. They know that she is a female Pokémon, but they don't want back down. As I said just watch Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 16:59, 29 October 2016 (UTC)]]
:::So what? It behaving like a girl means nothing. Until it's gender is explicitly stated or it gets hit by Attract/Cute Charm, its gender stays at unknown. End of discussion.--<span style="color:#AB2813">F</span><span style="color:#C87365">orce</span><span style="color:#26649C">F</span><span style="color:#729ABF">ire</span> 17:05, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
:::::Beautiful idea of democracy. For me, if someone starts a discussion had at least to have evidence to show otherwise, but prefer to go against what the anime itself established and not accept debate even though my point does not require that I do any kind of proof. The anime shows that I am right, but do as you please, I am not an administrator, then I have no voice even. I close here.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 16:38, 29 October 2016 (UTC)]]
