Static (Japanese: せいでんき Static Electricity) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Twelve Pokémon have this ability, all of which are Template:Type2.

Effect

In battle

When Pokémon with this ability are hit by a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance that the attacking foe will become paralyzed.

Outside of battle

In Pokémon Emerald, Diamond and Pearl Versions, having a Pokémon with this ability at the front of your party also increases the chances of finding Electric-type Pokémon in the area.
