{{Ash}} and {{ashfr|his friends}} arrived in Shelter Town through a tunnel. In the town's [[Pokémon Center]], they meet a {{pkmn|Trainer}} named [[Marilyn]]. She {{pkmn|battle}}s {{an|Dawn}} and her {{TP|Dawn|Buneary}} using her {{p|Cherubi}} and won the match. After watching the battle, [[Brock]] decided to challenge Marilyn to teach her about the strength of the Pokémon, which was later interrupted by [[Team Rocket]]. [[Nurse Joy]] also gave Dawn, Ash and Brock winter clothing from [[Johanna]].
