The '''Random Basic Pack''' (Japanese: '''ランダムベーシックパック''' ''Random Basic Pack'') is a Japanese-exclusive introductory Standard Deck Starter Deck that was released alongside the {{TCG|HeartGold & SoulSilver Collection}} of the [[Pokémon Trading Card Game]].

==Information==
The Starter Deck consists of 60 cards, 30 of which can be any of the {{TCG|Pokémon}} or {{TCG|Trainer card}}s found in both the HeartGold and SoulSilver subsets that make up the expansion (including {{TCG|Pokémon Prime}} and {{TCG|Pokémon LEGEND}}). The other 30 are a fixed selection of {{TCG|Energy card|Basic Energy cards}}. Also included is a bonus promotional {{TCG ID|L-P Promo|Gyarados|4}} card, which can only be obtained in the Random Basic Pack in Japan.

This is not an uncommon theme in Japan; random decks are traditionally released alongside the first expansion in a new Generation or during transitional eras. Exceptions to this include [[Generation III]], where they were implemented in part via {{TCG|Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise Random Constructed Starter Decks|half decks}} alongside {{TCG|Flight of Legends}}; and [[Generation V]], where they were not implemented at all.

This deck is similar to English releases such as the {{TCG|2-Player Starter Set}} and {{TCG|2-Player CD-ROM Starter Set}}, designed to introduce players to the new LEGEND format.

Like others, the Random Basic Pack also includes a rulebook, {{DL|Appendix:Glossary (TCG)|Damage|damage counters}}, and card list.
