Pokémon breeding: Difference between revisions

In Generation IV, a new mechanic was added to breeding: there is now a five fold increased chance (5/8192 or 1/1639 as opposed to the regular chance of 1/8192)<ref>[http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3760658&postcount=773 Smogon forums - DPPt/HGSS RNG Research]</ref> of hatching a [[Shiny Pokémon]] when both parents are from different language games. This is due to [[Masuda method|special coding written into the game]] by director [[Junichi Masuda]]. Aside from this addition, the means of breeding for Shininess are otherwise unchanged.
