'''''Pokémon Sinnoh Handbook''''' (ISBN 978-0-545-00072-7) by [[Tracey West]] and [[Katherine Noll]] is an edition of the ''[[The Official Pokémon Handbook]]'' series that was published in September 2007. It served as a paper form of the [[List of Pokémon by Sinnoh Pokédex number|Sinnoh Pokédex]] from {{2v2|Diamond|Pearl}} and contained an entry for all the [[Generation IV]] Pokémon. The front cover has pictures of the starter Pokémon ({{p|Chimchar}}, {{p|Piplup}}, and {{p|Turtwig}}) that one can choose from in the Diamond and Pearl games. There was a shorter version for schools serviced by [[Scholastic]]; it omitted Pokémon found only in {{v2|Platinum}} and the [[legendary Pokémon]] not found in [[List of Pokémon by Sinnoh Pokédex number|either regional Pokédex]] ({{p|Cresselia}}, {{p|Shaymin}}, etc.).

Each Pokémon either shares its page of the book with another or is by itself. Each entry has the Pokémon's summary, picture, and evolution chain.

Each entry is topped with a large red box that has the Pokémon's name and {{pkmn|category}} (e.g. Shield Pokémon for {{p|Bastiodon}}).

 

# Techniques (the basic and most commonly used [[move]]s of that Pokémon)

At the very bottom of each Pokémon's entry is a diagram of its evolutionary family. Pokémon that do not evolve instead have the words "DOES NOT EVOLVE".

The book has an introduction, a guide to the layout of the entries, an introduction to the Sinnoh region, an appendix about {{Ash}}, {{an|Brock}}, {{an|Dawn}} and their current Pokémon (as of ''[[DP019|Twice Smitten, Once Shy]]''), and a poster of all the Pokémon in the [[List of Pokémon by Sinnoh Pokédex number|Sinnoh Pokédex]] as of {{2v2|Diamond|Pearl}}.

* {{p|Abra}} and {{p|Alakazam}}'s pages incorrectly label their [[Pokémon category|categories]] as "Psychic Pokémon" instead of "Psi Pokémon."

* {{m|Double Hit}}, {{m|Fling}}, {{m|Nasty Plot}}, and {{m|Last Resort}} are missing from {{p|Aipom}}'s page.

* {{p|Blissey}}'s page is missing its weight.

* {{p|Cherubi}}'s page features the move {{m|SolarBeam}} twice.

* {{p|Garchomp}}'s moves include {{m|Sucker Punch}}, {{m|Payback}}, and {{m|Dark Pulse}}, none of which it can learn.

* Though the Pokémon are supposed to be listed in alphabetical order, {{p|Gastrodon}} is listed before {{p|Gastly}} and {{p|Steelix}} is listed before {{p|Spiritomb}}.

* {{p|Geodude}}'s page misspells {{m|Stone Edge}} as "Stone ''Eye''."

* {{p|Golduck}}'s page implies that {{Ash}} battled {{ho|Katie}} twice, whereas he only battled her once (but over the course of two episodes).

* {{m|Bug Buzz}} is listed as "Big Buzz" on {{p|Kricketune}} and {{p|Mothim}}'s pages.

* All instances of {{m|Guard Swap}} are listed as {{DL|Battle item|Guard Spec|Guard ''Spec''}}.
