Firelight'') is a dormant volcano on [[Knot Island]] in {{game|FireRed and LeafGreen|s}}. {{p|Moltres}} lives high atop this behemoth mountain, and the mountain was named for the embers that are visible at night because of the legendary bird. It is also home to the {{DL|List of key items in Generation III|Ruby}}.

 

Mt. Ember can be traversed as soon as the {{player}} has arrived in the Sevii Islands, provided the required [[HM]]s have been taught. After {{m|Surf}}ing north of the [[Ember Spa]], a [[Move Tutor]] will offer to teach {{m|Explosion}} to a Pokémon. A pair of {{tc|Team Rocket Grunt}}s are apparently standing guard nearby, talking in loud, easily overheard whispers.

Further up the hill, {{m|Rock Smash}} and {{m|Strength}} allow access to a network of caves which lead to the [[legendary birds|legendary bird]], {{p|Moltres}}. After the [[National Pokédex]] has been obtained and the player speaks with [[Celio]], the Rocket grunts will challenge the player to a battle. If victorious, they will flee, allowing access to another chasm, inside of which lies the {{DL|List of key items in Generation III|Ruby}} required by Celio to enable trading with [[Hoenn|a far-off region]]. It is found in a room with a [[Braille]] inscription; the previous room gives a letter-by-letter translation. By continuing along the pathway, the player will find the cave is in fact circular, and he or she will be back at the entrance.
