He first appeared during {{Ash}}'s visit to the museum where he explained the history of the city and the [[Defense Mechanism of Alto Mare]] (DMA). Ash got distracted by the presence of {{mov|Bianca}}, whom he thought was the seemingly normal girl he had saved earlier (who was not Bianca, but rather {{OBP|Latias|M05}} disguised as her), and was scolded by Lorenzo for absentmindedly leaning on the DMA. He followed Bianca and Latias to the secret garden of {{OBP|Latios|M05}} and Latias. Lorenzo arrived just in time to prevent Latios from attacking Ash and {{AP|Pikachu}}, and allowed Latias to play with them. He showed Ash the [[Soul Dew]] and explained that he knew the father of the two Guardians, and how he now protected Latios and Latias after their father's death.
