James's Weezing: Difference between revisions

Weezing first appeared in ''[[EP002|Pokémon Emergency!]]'' as a {{p|Koffing}}. Throwing their [[Poké Ball]]s down from their [[Team Rocket's mechas|Meowth balloon]], [[Jessie]] and James used both it and [[Jessie's Ekans]] to quickly overtake the defenseless {{ci|Viridian}} [[Pokémon Center]]. Koffing's job was to create a {{m|SmokeScreen}} while Ekans destroyed the computers. Chasing everyone into the back room, Koffing and Ekans accompany their Trainers in intimidating the others, which causes Misty to decide to battle Team Rocket. This is a failed effort, however, as both of them manage to catch up to Ash in no time at all. Just then, [[Nurse Joy]]'s {{p|Pikachu}} came out and healed Ash's Pikachu with a {{m|Thunder Shock}} attack, while at the same time attacking the [[Team Rocket trio]]. Giving Ash's Pikachu enough power to stand up, Ash charged-up Pikachu using Misty's charred bike, and he let him have his own Thunder Shock. As the group are being electrocuted, Koffing releases a stream of {{m|Smog}} from one of the craters on its body, and the electricity climbs up the toxic gas, causing the entire Pokémon Center to explode, and sending Team Rocket blasting off.

In ''[[EP052|Princess vs. Princess]]'', Jessie used Weezing during the [[Princess Festival|Queen of the Princess Festival contest]]. Weezing helps Jessie make it up to the finals, but ultimately fails against Pikachu's {{m|Thunder Shock|ThunderShock}}.  

During the [[Johto]] episodes, he tended to use {{TP|James|Victreebel}} more for actual combat. During this time, Weezing was used to create smoke to cover escapes and entrances.

In ''[[AG002|A Ruin With A View]]'', James sent out Weezing alongside Arbok to battle [[Team Magma]] grunts who approached them. Not long after being sent out, Team Magma's Houndoom used Roar to send Weezing and Arbok back into their Poké Balls.

As a Koffing, it was always happy and light-hearted, if not a bit dopey. But after it evolved, it constantly looked depressed and forlorn. This may not be indicative of its character, however, because all Weezing have this appearance. Weezing and Arbok seem to be both very emotional. This was first shown in ''[[EP017|Island of the Giant Pokémon]]'', where they got very sad for being separated from James and Jessie, crying desperately, with {{AP|Pikachu}} cheering them. In the end of the episode, when every lost Pokémon got reunited with their partners, Koffing and James, along with Ekans and Jessie, were happily crying. In ''[[EP069|Lights, Camera, Quacktion]]'' both Weezing and Arbok got depressed for being rejected as the main characters in the movie. It was only with James's and Jessie's help that they got over it.  On their last appearance, in ''[[AG006|A Poached Ego!]]'', they were reluctant in leaving Jessie and James, and when they did, they strongly cried. Weezing could be seen as extremely powerful in the [[M01|first movie]], as [[Nurse Joy]] and {{mov|Miranda}} said more than once that only the stronger Pokémon with the most exceptional Trainers could face the storm. Yet, it was Weezing who brought Team Rocket to [[New Island]].
