Route 120 appeared from Omega Alpha Adventure 16 to Omega Alpha Adventure 18. After Sapphire had been defeated by Zinnia, Aarune found her and brought her to recover at Wally's Secret Base on Route 120. While Emerald was trying to contact Sapphire through Hoopa's rings, he ended up creating a portal to the Secret Base, while another one of Hoopa's portals remained open in Johto, where Ruby and Norman had gone to find Super-ancient Pokémon (Adventures). When Rayquaza spotted Super-ancient Pokémon (Adventures) and Super-ancient Pokémon (Adventures) at Hoopa's location through the portal, it attempted to attack them. In a desperate attempt to prevent the three Pokémon from getting into a battle, Hoopa brought its portals together, thus causing Rayquaza to burst out of Wally's Secret Base.
As a fragment of Grand Meteor Delta was falling towards Route 120, Hoopa used its portal to transport Groudon and Kyogre there as well to help stop it. However, even the three Legendary Pokémon's combined signature moves were unable to fully destroy the giant meteor fragment, causing them to be hit by the falling debris.
