Glaceon (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Glaceon is a quadruped, mammalian creature covered in light-blue fur that can be frozen into sharp quills. It has long, pointed ears, dark eyes, and a small nose. A teal crest with two dangling flaps adorn its head, resembling hair or headgear. Glaceon has two dark blue, rhombus-shaped markings on its back; the tip of its tail, feet, and flaps are the same shade of blue.  

By controlling its body temperature, the moisture in the air freezes, producing ice crystals surrounding it. It is capable of freezing its fur into sharp needle-like icicles, used to tackle its prey. It can drop its body temperature below -75 degrees Fahrenheit. Glaceon is usually found in urban areas under the care of humans. It is rarely found in the wild.

A Glaceon appeared in ''[[BW085|All for the Love of Meloetta!]]'', under the ownership of {{an|Cynthia}}. It was used to make some ice for {{an|Meloetta}}.

A male Glaceon debuted in ''[[BW102|Team Eevee and the Pokémon Rescue Squad!]]'', along with an Eevee and her other evolved forms at the time, under the ownership of [[Virgil]]. He reappeared in a flashback in [[BW103|the next episode]]. In ''[[BW105|Lost at the League!]]'', he defeated a {{p|Reuniclus}} during the third round of the [[Vertress Conference]].

A Glaceon appeared in ''[[PK25|Eevee & Friends]]'' along with an Eevee and its evolved forms, including the newly introduced {{p|Sylveon}}. It has an artistic personality and decorates its room with elaborate ice sculptures.

A {{pkmn2|wild}} Glaceon appeared in ''[[SM065|Turning Heads and Training Hard!]]'', where it was summoned to help [[Ilima]]'s Eevee perform {{m|Extreme Evoboost}}. It reappeared in the [[Poké Problem]] segment of the [[SM066|next episode]], where it saw Ilima and Eevee off.

A {{pkmn|Trainer}}'s Glaceon made a cameo in ''[[DP092|A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine!]]''.

A Glaceon made a brief cameo appearance in the opening sequence of ''[[M11|Giratina and the Sky Warrior]]'' together with an Eevee and the other six [[Eeveelution]]s at the time.

A Glaceon appeared in [[PK19]] as a resident of an icy island.

A Glaceon appeared in ''[[DP160|A Marathon Rivalry!]]'', under the ownership of a competitor in the [[Pokéathlon]] held in [[Camellia Town]].

A Glaceon briefly appeared in ''[[DP182|An Old Family Blend!]]'', under the ownership of a Trainer competing in the [[Lily of the Valley Conference]].

A Glaceon appeared in a fantasy in ''[[XY090|Tag Team Battle Inspiration!]]'', where {{an|Shauna}} imagined what [[Serena's Eevee]] could evolve into.

A Glaceon debuted in ''[[XY101|A Dancing Debut!]]'', under the ownership of [[Sara Lee]]. It participated in the {{to|Couriway}} {{pkmn|Showcase}} alongside a Leafeon. It reappeared in ''[[XY109|Master Class Choices!]]'', where it and its Trainer were watching {{an|Serena}} participate in the Theme Performance at the {{ci|Fleurrh}} Showcase Rookie Class. A Glaceon appeared in ''[[SM003|Loading the Dex!]]'', during a fantasy that {{MTR}} had after an encounter with a {{TP|Jessie|Mimikyu}} alongside a {{p|Gardevoir}} and {{p|Lopunny}} but were really {{p|Gastly}}, {{p|Haunter}}, and {{p|Gengar}}.

A Glaceon appeared in [[SS019]] as an image in the [[Pokédex]].

* Despite Eevee being obtainable before the [[Pokémon League]] in [[Pokémon Black and White Versions 2]], it cannot evolve into Glaceon until after the Elite Four is defeated. The same applies with Leafeon.

* Glaceon has the lowest base {{stat|Attack}} stat of all Eeveelutions, and is tied with {{p|Jolteon}}, {{p|Flareon}}, Espeon, and Leafeon for the lowest base {{stat|HP}} stat of all Eeveelutions.

Like many of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon shares characteristics of foxes, dogs, and cats. It may be more closely based on an {{wp|arctic fox}}, due to their habitat. Assuming Leafeon draws inspiration from {{wp|Siamese cat|Siamese}} or other {{wp|Point coloration#In cats|colorpoint cats}}, Glaceon may also draw some inspiration from them (especially blue points). Its "hair" resembles an {{wp|ushanka}} or a scarf hat.

Glaceon is a combination of ''glace'' (French for ''ice'') or ''glacier'' (a large, slow moving mass of ice on land) and ''eon'' (an immeasurably long period of time, possibly referring to how long evolution takes naturally). ''Eon'' is a suffix all {{p|Eevee}} [[evolution]]s share and was Eevee's English prototype name. Its name may also be an anagram of the English word ''congeal'' (meaning ''to freeze'')
