A dub of the Pokémon anime is a version which has voices recorded in a different language than the original Japanese. By some definitions of the word, the original Japanese recording can also be considered a dub, but fans almost exclusively use the word to refer recordings in other languages, and refer to the Japanese recording as "the original" or "raw" version.

The English dub was produced by 4Kids Entertainment for its first eight seasons. It is currently produced by TAJ Productions.

It is well-known as a target of criticism and controversy in the Pokémon fandom. One of the best known of these is known as the Pokémon USA recasting controversy, when the dub changed hands from 4Kids to TAJ and almost all of the major voice actors were replaced without warning.

Despite how much criticism the English dub receives, many fans choose to watch it instead of the original Japanese anime since it has not been released in Japanese with English subtitles.
