Synopsis

Template:Incomplete synopsis It's just another day in the life of Ash and his friends when while on their way to Lilypad Town for Dawn's next contest they fall into into yet another Team Rocket trap, unfortunately this time it appears that Jessie, James and Meowth will succeed in their plan to steal everyone's Pokémon. However the two groups find themselves at the mercy of a malevolent and sadistic Togepi that delights in making people suffer. Soon everyone is forced to join forces to escape, but will it be enough to outwit the Spike Ball Pokémon?

  • This is the first episode in which a Togepi appears and Misty's Togepi does not.
  • This is the last episode to air before the release of HeartGold and SoulSilver in Japan.
  • This episode has a similar theme to UnBEARable; both episodes star a cute Pokémon who manipulates everyone.
  • Jessie's Yanmega's gender is confirmed to be female in this episode, being the only one who was not affected by Togepi's Attract while Pikachu, Piplup, Meowth, and Croagunk were. In addition to this, Pikachu's gender is also officially confirmed in the Japanese version.
  • This episode's title is referencing the famous Star Trek line "Where No Man Has Gone Before".
  • As opposed to being hit by a Pokémon attack, Team Rocket blasts off via a rocket ship.
