==History==

Brock captured Bonsly in the episode ''[[AG156|From Cradle to Save]]'', while {{Ash}}, {{an|May}}, [[Max]] and himself were training at a [[Pokémon Ninja School]] in the [[Kanto]] {{Gdis|Battle Frontier|III}}.  

===Diamond & Pearl series===

He was also shown to have gained a significant increase in his power and battling skills. Instead of being needy and heavily reliant on Brock's care, Sudowoodo was eager to help Brock in almost any task. In almost all regards, he had grown from a typical [[baby Pokémon]] into a strong adult Pokémon, a true testament to Brock's talents as a {{tc|Pokémon Breeder}}. He also has an odd tendency to {{wp|salute}} Brock whenever he is called from his [[Poké Ball]].

He was seen helping Ash train his {{AP|Infernape}} in ''[[DP185|Working on a Right Move!]]''. With this training Infernape was able to learn {{m|Flare Blitz}}, which was so strong, it accidentally knocked out Sudowoodo in the process.

Brock sent out Sudowoodo in the manga version of {{ma|The Rise of Darkrai}} to battle {{mov|Darkrai|Darkrai|10}}. However, he along with Happiny, were put to sleep by Darkrai's {{m|Dark Void}}.

* For ''[[DP019|Twice Smitten, Once Shy!]]'', [[Professor Oak's lecture]] is about Brock's Sudowoodo. He writes this [[Pokémon senryū]] about it: しんかして　もうなかないよ　ウソッキー ''You've evolved, so don't cry anymore, {{tt|Usokkie|Sudowoodo}}.''

* Sudowoodo is the only Pokémon to date that Brock captured onscreen through the standard method by battling him first.
