Blizzard has 100% accuracy if used while it is {{weather|hail}}ing. In {{2v2|Diamond|Pearl}}, it also has a 30% chance of bypassing {{m|Protect}} and {{m|Detect}}, but not from {{v2|Platinum}} onward.

Blizzard will ignore accuracy and evasion checks under {{m|Hail}}. In [[Triple Battle]]s, Blizzard will only hit opposing adjacent Pokémon.

Blizzard's power changed from 120 to 110. In [[Horde Encounter]]s, it will target all opponents<!-- but may miss or not affect individual members-->. Blizzard will also destroy [[natural objects|Berry trees]] found in the background of {{pkmn|battle}}s.
