 The [[Pewter Gym]] focuses on the bulky {{type|Rock}}. Luckily, none of the Pokémon inside have learned any Rock moves yet.  Bring a few [[Potion]]s, and enter the first Gym.

 Brock's {{p|Geodude}} isn't very difficult to take down, but watch out for his {{p|Onix}}. If it uses its {{m|Bide}} move, don't damage it! Use the two turns to lower its stats, because any damage you do to it while it is storing energy will be thrown back at you for exactly twice as much!
