Bulbapedia:Image reversion policy

This article is an official policy on Bulbapedia. Its contents are strongly binding and can be considered law on Bulbapedia.

Due to the number of edits used solely to edit war over what is a "better image," particularly for anime screenshots, the administrators and Editorial board of Bulbapedia feel it is necessary to instate an official policy on the matter.

Guidelines for changing an image

If any user besides an administrator wishes to change an image for any anime article, they must obtain the permission of an administrator before changing the image. The administrator will weigh the pros and cons of each image, such as resolution and representation of the episode, in order to decide which image should be used. Users should not assume their image is better, and must receive an answer from an administrator before replacing any images.

Penalties for image edit-warring

Put simply, if two or more users are involved in an edit war over an image for an article, and they continue after initially being asked to refrain from such behavior, all users involved will receive a block equal to the total amount of reversions between all users involved. I.E., if two users switch between an image four times each, they will each receive a block of eight days.
