Pokémon the First Movie is the name of the soundtrack to the first English-language Pokémon movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back, and the first English-language Pikachu short, Pikachu's Vacation. It was produced by Atlantic Records, and its catalog number is 83261. It was released in the United States on November 9, 1999. The CD's total length is 60:16.
It is one of the few English Pokémon soundtracks not available in the iTunes store, possibly due to difficulty with licensing as many contemporary pop stars performed on the album. Buyers of this CD could mail a proof of purchase of the CD to recieve a promotional Jigglypuff card.
The album is a Hyper CD, containing "exclusive film footage" as CD-ROM data. This data consisted of a link to a hidden website that hosted the footage.
