Trivia
- Much like Misty's guest appearance in The Princess and the Togepi and A Togepi Mirage, May makes a return.
- An instrumental version of I Won't Lose! ~Haruka's Theme~ is used during the battle with Team Rocket. Pokémon Symphonic Medley is also used as background music.
- On another note, I Won't Lose! ~Haruka's Theme~ was left in the dub as the background music for the first time.
- Roman seems to be based on the Rich Boy trainer class while Kylie is based on the Lady trainer class.
- Instead of Professor Oak's Pokémon lecture, the end of the episode featured a memorial to The Power of One. This is part of a countdown to Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin.
- The dub's title is similar to the Japanese title, as, since both have the same words, A Full Course Tag Battle! and Tag Battle for a Full Course!. There appears to be no English phrase that this title references, making it the first episode since Pokémon Ranger - Deoxys Crisis! to simply be a translation of the Japanese title.
- May was surprised when Ash said that he would be entering the Wallace Cup.
- Pikachu was the only Pokémon on Ash's team seen in this episode.
Errors
- In one scene, one of May's gloves are colored like Ash's gloves.
- In one instance, Kylie's Munchlax is seen using Giga Impact. Munchlax cannot learn this move, though Snorlax can.
- In one scene, Drifloon was colored pink, instead of the original purple.
