Split

Those are two different towns, with same English name. I don't even know which Japanese name to put here. I'd say to split the article. --Maxim 06:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Just section it off. "Porta Vista is the English name given to two towns on the anime. It appeared in EP018 with the Japanese name THING, and in EP019 with the Japanese name BLOP. ==In EP018== <stuff> ==In EP019== <stuff>" Or something to that effect. — THE TROM — 10:48, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Any action would be easier if we had the kanji for Hatoba Port. (We already have the Aopulco kanji, アオプルコ, thanks to one of Maxim's summaries in the EP018 edit history.) I personally think "section it off" would be the best thing, given how a full split might confuse dub viewers...--Shiningpikablu252 14:00, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
No problem. ハトバポート --Maxim 14:04, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Hutber Port

Perhaps Hutber Port (from Pokémon.com) is Hatoba Port while Aopulco is Porta Vista (which they call Acapulco in that description). They don't mention "Porta Vista" anywhere on the site nor do they mention Beauty and the Beach. In a nutshell, Hatoba Port=Hutber Port and Aopulco=Acapulco. --Abcboy (talk) 10:14, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

How to handle this page

So this article is about two locations in Japanese, or one in the dub. However, I think there is an alternate interpretation based on what the dub gives us that is consistent with the Japanese version.

So on Pokémon.com, the location in Beauty and the Beach is referred to as Acapulco, while the location in Tentacool & Tentacruel is Hutber Port. What we can do is say that Porta Vista is a location encompassing the two other locations, but has no Japanese name. In the Japanese version, the two locations are demonstrated to be close to each other, so I think this is a reasonable interpretation.

So ultimately, my suggestion is to have three pages: Porta Vista (encompassing both), Acapulco (EP018's location), and Hutber Port (EP019's location). --SnorlaxMonster 12:47, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Aopulco?

Can somebody verify that the Japanese name is correct? I mean the spelling of アオプルコ Aopulco. Because... why would it be アオプルコ Aopulco when we'd expect アカプルコ Acapulco? It looks like it's the latter, and somebody just mistook the カ for an オ. Maybe it was being copied from a low-res screenshot or sloppy handwriting or something, since the カ and オ letterforms do look kind of similar. (Though I suppose maybe it could be deliberate, as they did with Yungeller for Yurigeller, and similar names) Dannyjenn (talk) 04:20, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
