Name Origin

It's fairly obvious that the names of Zacian and Zamazenta are derived from cyan and magenta, respectively, but do we have any idea where their shared "Za" prefix comes from? I know speculation is frowned upon, but the fact that both of their names starts the same way is probably significant. --Luigifan 16:00, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

"Za-"

I think "za" is the Japanese word/spelling of the English word "the". So, their name is simply "the cyan" and "the magenta". ReignBough (talk) 05:20, 24 September 2019 (UTC)

Edit: Based on the interview of GameInformer: "That's the myth in the region, and I had this initial idea of "The Cyan" and "The Magenta". Rather than going a hundred percent straight like that, we played a little bit on the sound... to make it more like a name."ReignBough (talk) 15:31, 13 October 2019 (UTC)

Infobox Image

If the Hero of Many Battles form is considered to be its original form, then should it be placed as form1 in the infobox? It currently feels a bit inconsistent because the entire page treats it as the default form except for the images. Sucoleo (talk) 09:19, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Bringing this back, because I had changed it to be the default form, and it was reverted. I understand that the Crowned forms for Zacian and Zamazenta are featured on the box art, but they are not the default forms. The Hero of Many Battles forms are listed first in the Pokedex, and an item is needed to use the other form. Giratina's Origin forme is on the box art of Platinum but it is very much not the "first" form. The Hero of Many Battles forms should be listed first in the infobox. --celadonk (talk) 00:28, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
Return to "Zamazenta (Pokémon)" page.
