Feminine?
Mismagius doesn't really look very feminine to me. Not like Misdreavus does. Wouldn't that piece of trivia be more accurate in the Misdreavus article? Buddy Christ
- Not entirely; while it may not look feminine to you, it certainly does to others. It's like saying Honchrow isn't overtly masculine despite being based on a mafia godfather. I'm not here to start a petty edit-war (too late), I just think it's appropriate for the trivia section. Fossilgojira 15:34, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- Opinionated. Gardevoir is an exception. It most certainly DOES look like a woman, but Mismagius can go either way.Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 15:36, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- What is above me is also an opinion, and Gardevoir can be seen as a masculine creature if the beholder wishes. My entire point is that this IS trivial, just a little quirk that's worth mentioning, especially now considering the circumstances. Fossilgojira 15:45, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- Just for the record, there is a proper term for a male witch. They're typically called "warlocks". --Shiningpikablu252 17:04, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, warlocks were typically more experienced, male witches. Males could be plain old witches too. Has ANYBODY here heard of the Salem Witch Trials?Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 17:07, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- I'm going to skip the opinion part of this war and just ask an honest question: Why does the idea of Mismagius being cosidred femanine disturb you so much? It's nothing more than simple trivia. Fossilgojira 17:38, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

- Ending this. Now. Nobody cares if it looks masculine or feminine. That is NOT what users come to the page to find out. Instead of being very counterproductive, and trying to backseat-mod each other, direct your focus to any of the articles on this site that need work that DO NOT relate to what a Pokemon looks like. And honestly, this is coming from ME, a 21 year old guy who doesn't play Pokemon at all, but only joined so I could easier help my friend make a pokemon ROM hack. QTR 17:14, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- Either way, the "Mis" comes from Misdreavus's name, which is itself a pun on mischievous. Much like how Mumage comes from Muma. TTEchidna 17:25, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- It's completely gender neutral now, you have no reason to remove this from now on. Fossilgojira 21:47, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- No, it said, "despite its appearance." That IS NOT gender neutral. It is an opinion.--Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 21:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- "Despite it's appearance" reflects that some see it as masculine (such as yourself) while others view it as being feminine. The wording is completely neutral because it hints to niether gender and only says that there is an equal chance of it being male or female.Fossilgojira 22:03, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- "Despite its appearance." Look at that. "Appearance" is how something looks. It DOES hint at it looking feminine, despite your claims to the contrary.--Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 22:11, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, dude, the majority crowd see it as gender-neutral. No one sees it as masculine, and only the kooks who wanna genderify everything see it as feminine. TTEchidna 22:15, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, I, in fact, DO see it as gender-neutral.--Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 22:19, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Then let's try this then? "Despite its appearance, Mismagmius has an equal chance of being male or female, and has traits of both." Fossilgojira 22:20, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Pretty much the same thing.--Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 22:22, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- That's an opinion.Fossilgojira 22:24, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- If it has traits of both, and has an equal chance of being either, then... what does it matter? The Pichu species has equal chance of being male or female and has traits of both. TTEchidna 22:23, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- If anything and everything we say is just opinion, all that you're saying is just an opinion. OR IS THAT JUST MY OPINION?!?! But, look, here's the deal. I'll remove the qualifier from TS's comment. It is, substantially, the same thing. You mention the "despite its appearance," which implies that its appearance means a gender. Also, http://xkcd.com/386/. Let it go. -- evkl (need to talk?) 22:27, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Its going to have a gender because the reader will it it looks more like X than Y, (which is exactly how this started) similar to whats going on with Mewtwo; No mater what someone think, they are going to subconsciously assign any given pokemon a gender despite what their game data says, and even if it's based on an inanimate object like magnamite.Fossilgojira 22:35, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

- Yes. Based off Opinion. Heck, i think it looks like a Dude. so can i put that up? NO. its an opinion. cope with the fact that not everyone shares your opinion, its not trivia. NOT SOLID FACTUser:DCM 22:49, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- If I cared that people disagreed with me I'd die from stress the very next morning, an it's your oinion that it's an opinion which is an opinion in itself. In short: I'll never stop until it stays there, and none of you even have a reason to fight me as I've made it more than evident that I'm willing to re-write it until it comes across clearly that despite looking blatantly male or female to whomever sees it, it has defining traits of either.Fossilgojira 22:56, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Miasma
Miasma is a fictional poisonous gas, mentioned in popular video games like Final Fantasy and Dwarf Fortress. Am I the only one who sees the name of Mismagius as a play on Miasma? - unsigned comment from Zzzdude (talk • contribs)
- Yep. Sign your posts next time. — THE TROM — 08:09, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
