Sirfetch'd (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Sirfetch'd appears to be based on a {{wp|duck}} and a {{wp|knight}} armed with a {{wp|sword}} and {{wp|shield}}. Like Farfetch'd, it may be inspired by the Japanese saying 「{{tt|鴨が葱を背負って来る|Kamo ga negi o shotte kuru}}」, literally translating to "a duck comes bearing {{wp|Welsh onion|bunching onions}}". As a saying, it means "something surprising but convenient". Sirfetch'd may also be based on {{wp|Lancelot|Sir Lancelot du Lac}}, one of the members of the {{wp|Knights of the Round Table}}. In Arthurian legend, before he revealed his identity to {{wp|King Arthur}}, he was known as the "White Knight" for his white armor. In addition, it may also come from the lancelot leek which is a wild onion variant that is named after him.
