when standing two steps to the right of the bug catcher at Eterna city's entrance coming in from Eterna Forest, and having Explorer kit set to the "y" button, you will get the message, "The words of Prof. Rowan echoed, there is a time and place for this, but not here!." Leaving you unable to use the Explorer kit in that spot, but walking one step in nany direction from that spot will let you use it.
