::Not with the current version of Mediawiki. We can only have the thumbnail on the page, and when clicked, it loads the image page. It's less desirable than what we have at the moment. The bars are an easy enough way to compare them, for me at least easier, since they all go in the same direction. Also, take in mind that the current template uses relatively little loading - it doesn't use any images from the archives.
