(Japanese: '''ホワイト''' ''White'') is the female [[player character]] in {{game|Black and White|s}}. She is the female counterpart to {{ga|Black}}.

White is a girl who lives in [[Kanoko Town]], as do her childhood friends, [[Cheren]] and [[Bel]]. If chosen as the player, she will receive a [[starter Pokémon]] from her family as a gift. She will receive a [[Pokédex]] from [[Professor Araragi]]. After setting off on her [[Pokémon journey]] at the same time as Cheren and Bel, White will at some point be asked by [[Makomo]] to do some sort of quest; in return for its completion, White will receive a [[C-Gear]].

As well as encountering and battling her childhood friends at various points during her journey, White will also meet a man known as [[N]], who wishes to create separate worlds for humans and Pokémon. In order to achieve his goals, he and White will battle several times during the course of the game. It is assumed that White will also battle [[Team Plasma]] at various stages of her journey.

If not chosen as the player (that is, the male character was chosen as the player), she appears as the player's partner in the [[Battle Subway]] when choosing to ride the Multi-Train. As the player's partner, her name is Touko (Japanese: '''トウコ''').

The origin of this name is speculated to be a combination of the word "tou" (透, meaning transparent and with the implication of being untainted) and the female name suffix "ko" (子).
