:That is some very tortured logic. Your argument makes no sense. Espeon is on the team because it's the evolved form of the rival's starter that is not mandatory for the player to receive? That just doesn't make sense at all. It would maybe make sense if he had Jolteon, Flareon or Vaporeon, or a basic Eevee. Red's GSC is based on Red of the manga, not Ash of the anime. HGSS Red, however, is debatable.

In the trivia, it says "Meganium and Jolteon are the only two of Red's female Pokemon if he is an NPC." Exactly what is this referencing, as far as I am aware the only games he can be a NPC is GSC and HGSS, which he doesn't have either of those Pokemon.
