Why do we think it'd be based on the Dark Ages. Wouldn't the Middle Ages make more sense for a dragon (especially since Dark type would make more sense for Dark Ages)? {{unsigned|Hawthornen}} | Why do we think it'd be based on the Dark Ages. :The term "Dark Ages" used to refer to the early Middle Ages, but fell out of favour due to its negative connotations. I've changed it to "Middle Ages", which is the preferred term used among historians today. I've also added the Mesozoic, the Age of Reptiles, as a possible inspiration.
