Is it possible in Pokémon Red & Blue to catch Missingno. or other non-water Pokémon on the coast near the Power Plant rather than the Cinnabar coast? I broke my Blue (by foolishly using a Game Genie) so I can't test it out. --[[User:Libertyernie|Libertyernie]] 19:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

:I doubt it. The reason the missingno glitch occurs is that Cinnabar has no Pokemon defined for surf encounters, despite the existance of one stip of water, the coast. As such, the variable for encounters is set at whatever it was last, like the safari zone. Old Man's weedle is either M or Missingno, I forget which. Your other encounters are determined by your name, since that's where the game chooses to store the string while replacing your name with OLD MAN. --[[User:1338h4x|1338h4x]] 00:58, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

::Even if there was no Pokemon data there, it would be defined by the Pokemon on the route before it. The route that you fly to has Pokemon data on it.
