:Ok, I understand that this is not about your personal preference. If you ask me, I usually like to say "starter Pokémon". However, my question above still stands: for anyone who does not like "first partner", why single out Bulbapedia when this is a term that has been consistently used in several games, official media, and promotional material for at least 13 years and is also currently used by some other fansites around the world? Bulbapedia did not invent "first partner". --Daniel Carrero (talk) 05:30, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

::This is something that should probably be asked in a more open place than a talk page, if you genuinely want an answer for that. Get feedback from general users in a public space, rather than just those dedicated enough to delve into wiki subpages. Eskay64 (talk) 05:57, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

:::Thanks, I'm good. As far as I'm concerned, this talk page is a public space too. Anyone can read and participate here, and it's directly linked from the discussed page. We also have the Discord server and Forums.
:::This article also acknowledges that the term "starter Pokémon" exists anyway. I know that some people on Twitter were complaining about an old screenshot which specifically read "A first partner Pokémon, previously known as a starter Pokémon [...]" but that kind of incorrect wording was short-lived. It was revised about a month ago and the article does not say that anymore.
:::If you are thinking of other public spaces and would like to ask people at some point "Why are you singling out Bulbapedia when this website did not invent the term 'first partner' which has actually been used in other places for at least 13 years?", please let me know the answer if/when that happens. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 06:37, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
