:While I agree that the Pikachu line will end up in the game at some point, we can't put it on the Regional Dex until we have confirmation that it's in the Regional Dex. It could end up being like DP's Eevee for all we know. &mdash;<span style="font-family:Verdana"><span style="color:#000">darklord</span><span style="color:#0047AB">trom</span></span> 11:50, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

I have seen no wild or trainer owned Pikachu in game, however I did see an Pikachu standing next to a hiker in Hiun City, although I can't remember what building it was in. Pikachu is also seen on one of the electric billboards in the same city. In Raimon City, a giant inflatable Pikachu is set up for decoration.
Also, the Generation V "variation" of Pikachu is Emonga, a Electric Flying type Pokemon, which is the first Flying Electric type match up since Zapdos in Generation I.

5 Letter English Nickname Project
I feel that I need to bring this topic up. I think that there needs to be an official 5 letter nickname for each Pokemon until the English names of all of the Pokemon are released. The names will be based on what the Pokemon looks like, and sometimes by it's type. If a Pokemon's Japanese name is already only 5 letters long, then that is what it will be (Ex: Zoroa and Gears will keep their names). This will prevent confusion in the GTS, on forums, and also and more importantly in-game. Maybe a project could be started to find GOOD 5 letter nicknames for each Isshu Pokemon.
Ex: Instead of giving Pokabu the nickname "Piggy" (which undoubtedly has already been done), the name would be "Embor", which is a combination of "Ember" and "Boar", seeing that it is a fire pig.
Give your thoughts on this. What have you named your Pokemon by using the specifications above? Do you think that there should be "official" 5 letter English nicknames for each Pokemon, instead of just using the Japanese ones?
I'm not saying that this HAS TO BE DONE, but it's just a thought.

:No, definitely not. Even if we did give them nicknames until the English names are revealed (which I assure you, we won't) I don't see how they'd be considered official. I'm sorry, but it's a silly idea.--<span style="color:#DAA520">Poké</span><span style="color:#C0C0C0">lova!</span> 02:32, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
