Mantyke (Japanese: タマンタ Tamanta) is a dual-type baby Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.

It evolves into Mantine via level-up with a Remoraid in the party.
It evolves into Mantine when leveled up with a Remoraid in the party.

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Mantyke is a Pokémon that resembles a manta ray. It has a round body with wide, flat fins. Its back is dark-blue, while its underside is light blue. There are two red spots with white outlines and a light-blue, curved line on its back. These markings give the overall impression of a smiling face and vary slightly in each region. It has two long, curving antennae on top of its head and black eyes with eyelash-like markings underneath.
Like its evolved form, Mantyke looks like a manta ray. It has wide fins, and a completely flat body. On its back is a pattern with two red spots with white outlines and a white curve underneath; all this resembles a happy face.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Like Mantine, Mantyke has the ability to swim at high speeds.

Behavior
Despite its appearance, Mantyke is an effective swimmer. Its antennae are used to sense ocean currents. Mantyke is a friendly Pokémon that can be found approaching boats and swimming near the ocean's surface with schools of Remoraid. It often works together with Remoraid to repel attackers. Spending time with the Remoraid schools will eventually cause Mantyke to evolve into Mantine. Due to its friendly nature, Mantyke are very easy to tame. Mantyke are also super-popular in beach activities involving swimming tours. The Mantyke that live in Galar appear to move slower due to the cold waters of the region.
Much like Mantine, it appears to be quite friendly.
Habitat
Mantyke are found wild in the ocean.

Diet
Evolution
In Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, Jack Walker uses the Capture Styler on Mantyke in order to use it to help him reach the temple. It is also shown swimming with a Mantine, presumably a parent.

Trivia
Trivia
*Mantyke is the only Pokémon so far that needs another Pokémon to be in the party in order to evolve it.
* Mantyke is the only Pokémon that requires a specific Pokémon (Remoraid) to be in the party in order to evolve it. This is based on the aspect of Mutualism (biology), a form of symbiosis in which two organisms depend on each other for survival.
*Mantyke, along with Spinarak, Dusknoir and Arbok have patterns that resemble a face on their bodies.
* Despite the Pokédex entries in Diamond and Pearl, Black and White, X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl stating that Mantyke has patterns that vary by region, it has the same pattern in every game it has been in.
*At a catch rate of 25, Mantyke is third only to the Beldum evolutionary family and Volcarona as the most difficult non-legendary to catch. This makes it more difficult to capture than Dialga or Palkia (25 in comparison to 30).
* Mantyke is tied with Ledyba for the lowest base Attack stat of all Flying Pokémon.
*Despite what is said in the Pokédex, Mantyke's face on its back didn't differ in the back sprite of HeartGold and SoulSilver.

**However, in Black and White, where it is found, its "eyes" are slightly farther apart.
*Mantyke is the only Water or Flying Baby Pokémon so far.
*Oddly, Mantyke can learn Signal Beam through breeding, yet it cannot learn it from a Move Tutor. Mantine, however, can relearn that move.
**Signal Beam is also the only move that does appear on Mantyke's egg move list and doesn't on Mantine's.
