Bea is the fourth [[Gym Leader]] [[Galar|Galarian]] {{pkmn|Trainer}}s face in their [[Galar League|Gym Challenge]] in {{pkmn|Sword and Shield|Pokémon Sword}}. Bea is the known as the Galar karate prodigy, having inherited the centuries-old traditions and techniques from her parents.<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20211129044239/https://swordshield.pokemon.com/en-us/people-galar-region/fighting-gym-leader-bea/ Sword and Shield official website]</ref> She is also an expert on {{type|Fighting}} Pokémon. From a young age, Bea rigorously trained with her Pokémon under the watchful and strict eye of her parents. As a result, she developed a stoic personality that perseveres even during dire situations in [[Pokémon battle]]s. She tries her best to go all out, even when defeat seems imminent. Many believe she has lost the ability to experience emotions, but truthfully, she doesn't want to show any weakness. In battle, though, Bea will sometimes reveal her true feelings to the partner Pokémon she knows and trusts. She also has a secret love of various sweets. However, she has a hard time enjoying them due to the attention from her fans.

In [[JN130]], Bea watched Ash's match against Leon alongside Korrina and [[Gurkinn]].

In [[JN136]], Bea was shown having a training battle against [[Hop]], using Machamp to battle his {{p|Wooloo}} while Leon observed the match.

|desc={{p|Machamp}} is Bea's first known Pokémon. It was used in her battle in a Pokémon League tournament against [[Leon]], but lost. It later trained alongside her and her other Pokémon in the [[Wild Area]].

In [[PASS18]], it was revealed that Bea had battled [[Marnie]] and lost to her, despite the type advantage her Pokémon had against Marnie's {{p|Morpeko}}.

In [[PASS25]], the Gym Leaders gathered at [[Rose Tower]] to find out if [[Rose]] intended on bringing harm to Galar. While [[Oleana]] kept the Gym Leaders busy, {{Henry}}, {{Casey}}, Bede, [[Hop]], and Marnie went up to meet Rose, only to discover he was elsewhere. Rose appeared on a video screen and announced his plan to restart the [[Darkest Day]] and ensure the safety of Galar's future. Power Spot lights began appearing all over the region, causing Pokémon to start [[Dynamax]]ing at random. Bea traveled to the [[Hammerlocke]] [[Energy Plant]] with the others, but decided to head back to Stow-on-Side with Allister to help deal with the rampaging Dynamax Pokémon.
