Neo Destiny (Japanese: 闇、そして光へ... Darkness, and to Light...) is the name given to the fourth and final main expansion of cards from the Neo Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (the neo Era in Japan). The set continues to feature Generation II Pokémon in the card game.

<i>To Light...and to Darkness...

Neo Destiny (Japanese: 闇、そして光へ... Darkness, and to Light...) is an Expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It is the fourth and final expansion in the "Neo" series of cards, and much like the fourth expansion in the previous generation's main series, features Dark Pokémon. This time, however, a Light Pokémon appears.
Pokémon wreathed in mysterious light and Pokémon shrouded in darkness....What is their connection to Team Rocket? The mystery deepens and the adventure never ends!</i>

*This was the first (and only) set to feature Light Pokémon. Light Pokémon are similar to the Dark Pokémon introduced earlier in Team Rocket.

*The name "Destiny" is used as the set title in reference to the Light and Dark Pokémon, in that a Pokémon's destiny is determined by how they are treated by their Trainer.
Neo Destiny is the name given to the fourth and final main expansion of the Neo Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. In Japan, it was released as Darkness, and to Light..., the fourth and final expansion in the Pokémon Card Game neo Era. It is based on Gold, Silver, and Crystal, featuring Generation II Pokémon. The English expansion was released on February 28, 2002, while the Japanese expansion was released on April 20, 2001.
*This set completes the transition of all the Unown to card form, with the exception of Unown R. Like Wizards Promo, Unown R was a Promotional card in Japan, but was not translated by Wizards. An English Unown R did not appear until EX Unseen Forces.

*Shining Pokémon once again featured in this set - 8 as opposed to 2 in Neo Revelation. Unlike their predecessors, these cards got a unique foil treatment; the backgrounds remained non-holographic while the Pokémon themselves were given a metallic look.
Neo Destiny introduced Light Pokémon, a type of Pokémon. Light Pokémon cards have a white and gold artwork window, Evolution box and Pokédex box. Light Pokémon have higher HPs compared to those of normal Pokémon and attacks that often aid other Pokémon in play, likely due to the caring nature of the Trainer. Some Generation I Pokémon feature Ken Sugimori's Red and Blue artwork of their previous Stage, instead of the usual Red and Green artwork. Shining Pokémon now have Non Holofoil background, while the Pokémon were given a glossy metallic look.
*Each of the shining Pokémon released in this set is of a different type; the only one not represented is Water, which is represented by the two shining Pokémon released in the previous set.

*Neo Destiny was also the last set that Wizards of the Coast made that featured the 1st Edition symbol, and the last English-language set to feature it overall. The use of the symbol was eliminated due to the fact that sometimes the 1st Edition run would be released after the unlimited run (thus defeating the purpose).
Neo Destiny was the final English expansion that have the 1st Edition symbol.
*No Darkness Pokémon are released as Dark Pokémon. Pokémon that appear as dual-type Dark Pokémon in the games are given the TCG type corresponding to their other type as Dark Pokémon, with the examples of Neo Destiny, a Fire, and Neo Destiny, which is Fighting, while single-type Dark Pokémon (at the time there was only Umbreon) do not feature as Dark Pokémon. This "rule" was later completely reversed in the EX series, where most Dark Pokémon are dual-types with their normal type.
right clear
*Much like the Team Rocket expansion, only the Fire and Water starter Pokémon of the generation became Dark Pokémon. Unlike what was the case with Ivysaur and Venusaur, which later received Dark variants as promo cards, there has never been a Dark Bayleef or Dark Meganium.
