::Thanks, I forgot.  I just meant instead of cramming all four backsprites into sections of the box, it could cycle the way the Arceus sprite near the top of the page does.  I was also thinking that we could do that for the GenIV ones because you can get all 4.  We could also do it with Castform, Cherrim, Arceus, Unown, Burmy, Wormadam, Giratina, Shaymin, Rotom... The sprites could even cycle whenever the moving (Emerald + GenIV) sprites animation finishes.MisterE13 19:08, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

:::That would be an epic pain. Plus, the only way to do that would be to change the nice, crisp pngs into crappy 256-color gifs, so everyone could see them. And that's a definite no. Anipngs would be for the animation of the sprites, not for showing all of them. The way we've got it is just fine, as far as I'm concerned, since you can click the images anyway to get to the fullsize versions. And we're not doing one of those stupid gifs for everyone. Is it possible to get a comparison table up to show the differences between the movesets of each Forme?  Something like what's on the Legendary golems and other pages.  Just stick it below the other four moveset tables, permanently hidden so it's out of the way. ~ Serial Colour 20:37, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

The very earliest I can seem to find in English though is from summer 2013, and it's this forum stating the Pokémon he created are: Wobbufett, Deoxys, Celebi, Dunsparce and Magmortar. Though the sources are stated to be from Bulbapedia originally, a link is not given. To me, the most likely reason is that it originates from Hironobu illustrating the Deoxys cards for the TCG. I went to Wikipedia to look back at the Deoxys page history and the source given does not actually state Ken designed it - or anyone for that matter, though it quotes 'Deoxys was created by Ken Sugimori with the aid of a development team' in the 2010 Wikipedia article itself. Since then, a source for this claim is needed on Wikipedia.

::I decided to look into some Japanese websites and this Yahoo answer from 2012 states similarly to the English forum. I found this twitter post which, while posted this year, seems to contain a screenshot of a strategy guide containing Hironobu's creator profile, where he is credited for creating Deoxys. I read more into this guide and apparently it is from an official strategy book - I still need to find a full visual source though. Then I found this site. The person on this site wanted to find out who designed Darkrai, and they found what seems to be a lot of evidence. This, along with many other Japanese sites also having this information, seems relatively convincing to me and, if right, would mean he would have designed Darkrai as well. Still, it would seem strange I haven't found a source from the developers mouths - though that doesn't seem to happen often anyway." I'm really not sure how I forgot about most of this, I guess it's because I didn't think it would ever be worthwhile. Still, this is all the information I found so make of it what you will.

Deoxys Listed as "Legendary" on Pokèmon Center Website
According to the Pokèmon Center website, Deoxys is a legendary Pokèmon, not a mythical one.
source: http://www.pokemoncenter.com/info/Pokemon_Characters
The legendary Pokèmon list includes Mewtwo, Lugia, Regirock, Latias, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Xerneas, and Yveltal.
The mythical Pokèmon list includes Mew, Jirachi, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, and Diancie. Note that the image for mythical Pokèmon also shows Genesect.
This is the first source I've personally seen that claims Deoxys to be either legendary or mythical. If it is the only official source on the matter, then I would recommend changing this article accordingly. However, because there may be another source that contradicts this, I will hold off on the edit. :It is explicitly called Mythical in ORAS. Refer to Talk:Legendary Pokémon#Deoxys (if you wade through to the end). That is interesting, though; it's the first thing to inarguably class Deoxys as Legendary, giving us a bona fide conflict now... ::I'll bring it up on the Legendary Pokémon page. If nothing else, it might deserve to be mentioned as a conflict. <span style="text-shadow: 2px 1px 1px #FFE300">ᗧ•••ᗣ Pacack</span> 01:15, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
That whole event thing.
What I'm trying to say is that, although Ranch isn't a core game, it basically makes it so that Mew no longer requires an event, technically making Deoxys the 2nd Pokemon, and not the 1st.
Okay, now someone may be thinking "Ranger Manaphy", but AFAIK, there's no way to reset that data to get a new one, because the game doesn't erase it. At least with Ranch you can delete the data from the Wii menu & start from scratch to get another. That's why I said "catchable." Unowninator (talk) 18:03, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
:I went ahead and added a "games outside the core series" clause that should cover Ranch Mew, Ranger Manaphy Egg, Colosseum Bonus Disk Jirachi/Celebi, and any other ones I'm forgetting at the moment. I hope that solves both sides' issue with the trivium. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:14, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
::The trivia is not talking about whether you can get a Mythical Pokemon without an event, period.
::The trivia is saying, Deoxys is the only Mythical that is IN a CORE game, and that does not require an event to get it. Is Mew in a core game? Sure. Without an event? NO. Celebi? Sure. Without an event? NO. (Same for Darkrai, Arceus, Shaymin, Victini.) Jirachi/Manaphy? Not IN a core game. Tiddlywinks (talk) 18:24, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
:::Ranch isn't an event. Therefore, Mew IS obtainable without an event. Unowninator (talk) 19:29, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
::::And that's NOT what the trivia is about. ...Please, can you tell me: where is Haley's Mew present in a core game? (Remember: CORE game.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:37, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
:::::... When you transfer it. Yes, I get that you can't get it without Ranch, but an event and spin-off games are 2 completely different things. Unowninator (talk) 19:44, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
::::::And that's not IN a core game. Which is what the trivia point is about. Hayley's Mew is not in a core game; it has NO bearing on this trivia. Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:50, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Deoxys is the only Mythical Pokémon to become available within a core series game without an event.
:::::::: Available being the keyword. The Mew gets transferred to the core games without an event. That's why it should be reworded. Unowninator (talk) 19:57, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
:::::::::No. "Within" is the key word. I.e., without touching any other game. You start a core game, walk around in the game, and eventually in the game, you find a Mythical Pokemon, without having done anything in particular anywhere but in the same game. A reasonable person is almost entirely likely to read it like that. You're just too focused on your own point to see anything else clearly. ::::::::::Okay, fine. You got me there. When I have something on my mind, it's hard to focus on anything else. And I always miss stuff when reading, 2 of my weaknesses. *sighs* Sorry to waste your time. Unowninator (talk) 21:53, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
A few things
1) Is the English transliteration for the Greek name correct? I always thought nu tau was "d" and not "it".
2) Since there's been official word saying Deoxys is Legendary and official word saying Deoxys is Mythical... why not both? The different reports don't have to be conflicting. --<span style="color:#98CC00">Celad</span><span style="color:#FFC37D">onkey</span> 17:17, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
:1) As far as I know, no, it's not. Though I might be wrong as I can't speak Greek.
:2) I don't see what point you're trying to make. When is it said that Deoxys is legendary? --<span style="color:#FF6464">R</span><span style="color:#11BB11">alts</span><span style="color:#6464FF">eye</span> prata med mej 17:36, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
::1) Ok.
::2) It was on the Pokémon Center website in 2015. I can't find it anymore, but if you look in the Mythical Mania section now, every Mythical Pokémon from gens 1-5 is there... except Deoxys. --<span style="color:#98CC00">Celad</span><span style="color:#FFC37D">onkey</span> 17:42, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Mythical Status
Should Deoxys even be called a mythical Pokemon anymore? I mean, we don't need a mystery gift to get. We can get it in the post story of ORAS. Not really mythical anymore Swonic
:Please refer to the discussion on Legendary Pokémon's talk page regarding Deoxys, it was explicitly called a Mythical Pokémon in ORAS.--<span style="color:#F1912B">F</span><span style="color:#F6B775">orce</span><span style="color:#5599CA">F</span><span style="color:#90BDDC">ire</span> 12:43, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Trivia Point
"Using the first letter from the names of three of Deoxys's Formes, one can spell "DNA" (Defense, Normal, Attack). The letter "s" at the ending of Deoxys's name could stand for Speed." What point is this trying to make? This seems like a kind of silly piece of trivia. I believe it should be removed. --<span style="color:#00A1E9">cela</span><span style="color:#BF004F">donk</span> (talk) 01:23, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
:I think the trivia about DNA is interesting, given that Deoxys is based on DNA. The "s" point I can't make any sense of and think should be removed. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 01:35, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Deoxys symbol
I would like to add this to the origin section:
The ∴ symbol on Deoxys' back may be a therefore sign, indicating a logical consequence in computing and mathematics. Possibly the symbol suggests a constellation like a similar grouping of asterisks, known in typography as a "group of stars" indicating a break in text. In Tamil language the symbol indicates an aspiration called a Visarga, meaning "sending forth, discharge". Overall the symbol may suggest Deoxys' extraterrestrial origin, its ability to discharge lasers, and its employing computational language. == Speed Form + Zap Cannon in Go? ==
Last night I corrected Defense Form's moves in Go; it had Zap Cannon listed instead of Thunderbolt. I *think* the same error applies to Speed form too, but I can't confirm it because I don't have that form to use an Elite TM on. Does it really have Zap Cannon?
