::Not really; 'onward' means 'introduced at this time, and continuing to the present day.' As it doesn't have this effect in generations IV, V, VI or VII, I still think that it should be moved to a separate section, or at least given a note. :::We try to concentrate on the changes of the move at hand (Dive), and therefore usually only do notes or separate sections if a mechanic actually changes. Dive didn't change in Generation VIII, it just has a new interaction with something newly introduced. It shouldn't be implied that Gulp Missile existed in Generation IV. ::::Well, if we're doing it that way, why not put it under generation III? If this move was not changed, put it as far back as possible. Eragon4 (talk) 16:46, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
:::::Well, one of the reasons is then I'm hearing lots of "I'm pretty sure Gulp Missile did not exist in Gen III."
:::::On a more serious note, though, I actually had a similar feeling, so I've actually made a proposal to change Effect sections some years ago. However, it never made it past proposal status. Nescientist (talk) 18:16, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
::::::I just read it. I like the general section at the top idea, and that would definitely be a place to put it; but I am progressively becoming more confused as to where to put it in the main article. On the one hand, as you say, Dive hasn't changed; and yet, the effect does not exist until Gen. VIII. All I know is, if BP was that kind of site, I would have friended you by now.Eragon4
Dive can be hit by Toxic
I took a video clip in Shield today of Fisher Harriet's Barraskewda, mid-Dive, being hit by a Drapeon using Toxic. Neither Pokémon can have No Guard. Should I add it to the article, or is this not worth mentioning?AstralSnugs
:It is worth mentioning and as it is an effect of Toxic and "semi-invulnerable turn" it should be mentioned on their pages what is already done.--<span style="color:#CC0000">Rocket</span> <span style="color:#666666">Grunt</span> 12:32, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
::Aha! I dug a bit further, this time on Toxic's page, and found that there's a Toxic sure-hit glitch which made this possible. Never mind, mystery solved!AstralSnugs
:::No it's not that glitch. Drapion is a Poison-type Pokemon which allows it to hit Pokemon in semi-invulnerable turn. The glitch makes all moves used in the same turn by this Pokemon also bypass accucary and semi-invulnerability.--<span style="color:#CC0000">Rocket</span> <span style="color:#666666">Grunt</span> 13:39, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
