I'm pretty sure I'm wrong, but does Big Root actually increase the power of drain moves?  I know it says the holder gains more HP, but is that because it does more damage or just because the holder gains more HP than usual?  The way game describes it makes it seem like the holder just gains more HP and it doesn't actually do more damage, but some clarification would be nice. == Why does this page contain no information? ==
That was my first question when browsing around looking for some explanation of what the heck any of these items actually ''do'', until eventually I realized I had JS disabled, which not only makes the information inaccessible, but also prevents the "show" text from appearing to suggest that it's even there at all. What's the purpose of hiding everything in these collapsible tables, and why is JS required to expand them, and why are they not at least expanded by default when JS is off? :Same reason every pokemon page is 80% garbage terrible useless info with no relevance to anything that you have to scroll past to get to the 20% of good bits. ==WHEN?==
First off, I concur about the hidden thingummy. The "show" text  doesn't load until the page is finished. For overly slow coonnecctions, this means I, er, the user will be entirely unable to see the things.

== Background rocks and finding rocks in aftermath in XY ==
Ok, I noticed sometimes in battles, especially horde battles that there are sometimes rocks in the background. These rocks will break when a certain move is used, and depending on what kind of rock. == Flame/Toxic Orb and healing ==
If a Pokémon is under the effects of a Flame Orb or Toxic Orb, is it possible to heal that Pokémon of their Burn or Badly Poisoned status condition? And if it is, does the Orb's respective status condition come back? [[User:Mangaman13|Mangaman13]] ([[User talk:Mangaman13|talk]]) 23:05, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

== Using Amulet Coins in Colosseum Challenges ==
So I've found that sending out a Pokémon with Amulet Coin at least once at any point during a Colosseum challenge in Pokémon Colosseum will double the prize money at the end. I've been making bank off of Deep Colosseum this way. However, this effect isn't mentioned anywhere on the wiki as far as I can tell. Would it be worth adding in somewhere, either on the individual Colosseum pages (Pyrite Colosseum, Deep Colosseum, etc.) or on this page? I think it's a very useful tip, especially for Deep Colosseum. [[User:Shugo|Shugo]] ([[User talk:Shugo|talk]]) 04:11, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
:That happens in every game, so it's not worth noting. [[User:Mangaman13|Mangaman13]] ([[User talk:Mangaman13|talk]]) 04:30, 9 March 2014 (UTC)
::Colosseum challenges don't exist in the handheld games; they're exclusive to [[Pokémon Colosseum]] and [[Gale of Darkness]]. A Colosseum challenge usually consists of four trainer battles in a row. However, you don't get any money from the individual trainers, which is what Amulet Coin would usually double; you get one big cash prize after beating them all and talking to the receptionist again. I didn't even think of Amulet Coin affecting that prize, but I accidentally found it out myself when I carried one into the challenge. I figured this might be worth noting somewhere. The flavor text says it prevents the user from using status moves...Does that mean any move that is counted in the status category, or only moves that effect the Pokémon or Opponent's stats? Like, if I were to have a Pokémon with Block and Double Team as moves hold the Assault Vest...would Block and/or Double Team be unusable so long as Assault Vest is held? :According to Google Translate, you are correct, but I don't think that's the most reliable translation method out there. == Berserk Gene and Mewtwo? ==
Mewtwo is not encounterable in the wild in gold, silver, and crystal. However, if by a glitch or cheating device mewtwo is encountered, there is a 5% chance it will be holding the berserk gene and will automatically use it upon being encountered. I have tested this. Since Mewtwo was programmed with a possible held item, it would appear it was planned to appear in the wild in GSC at some point. Should this be noted somewhere? I think it's an interesting bit of trivia. And even if Mewtwo can't normally be encountered, his holding the Berserk Gene is programmed into the game. == Destiny Knot IVs ==
I bred a 6IV male Charmander with a 3IV Kangaskhan and the resultant offspring sometimes had 5IVs but I would got some that had 4 or rarely 3. Assuming I have everything correct, this would show the Destiny Knot does not guarantee that 5 of the holder's IVs will be passed down. Am I right? Also, I used the Kiloude City stats judge to determine the IVs of the offspring.--[[User:NOBODY|NOBODY]] ([[User talk:NOBODY|talk]]) 21:31, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
:Yes, Destiny Knot does not guarantee that 5 of the ''holder's'' IVs will be passed down. But it does guarantee that 5 of the ''parents<nowiki>'</nowiki>'' IVs will be passed down, meaning that the offspring may not inherit IVs only from Charmander holding the Destiny Knot, but also from its other parent, Kangaskhan. And that's actually what's written in this article.--'''[[User:Dennou Zenshi|<font color="#AB0909">電</font><font color="#063A73">禅</font>]]<small>[[User talk:Dennou Zenshi|<font color="#fff" face="Tahoma"><span style="text-shadow:#000 0.2em 0.1em 0.1em; class=texhtml">Den Zen</span></font>]]</small>''' 21:50, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
== Choice Band ==
The description of the Choice Band in Generation III kinda confuses me. Does it power up the move you use, regardless of its type? Or does it increase the attack like in later generations? The first one makes more sense to me (it would match the description). The second one doesn't seem to make that much sense, because if you used, say, a Fire-type move you would be just locked into it without any advantage (remember, all Fire-type moves were Special in Gen. III). --[[User:Telinc1|Telinc1]] ([[User talk:Telinc1|talk]]) 20:59, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
== King's Rock (2) ==
If you look at the discussion earlier in this page ("King's Rock"), King's Rock wasn't meant to be added to this page due to its [[Evolution-inducing held item|special situation]]. Yet it was. Additionally, Razor Fang and Claw are not on this page, which would make sense considering the previous argument. I think it should be removed. The only exception to this rule besides King's Rock right now is Metal Coat, and that's only because it makes sense with the other [[type-enhancing item]]s. I'd remove it, but would like some discussion before doing so. In any case, I'll be relinking so that King's Rock links to the evolution-inducing held item page instead. [[User:Ht14|<span style="color:#FF1111">'''''ht'''''</span>]][[User talk:Ht14|<span style="color:#11BB11"><small>''14''</small></span>]] 19:15, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
:I sort of feel that King's Rock is a little special. I think (to my knowledge/sense) King's Rock is an item that is more likely than most items to be used in battles, so maybe someone will expect to find it here or something.
:On the other hand, I don't know that I'm against having it (and Razor Claw and Razor Fang) on both pages. I could swear we do it for some other items too. [[User:Tiddlywinks|Tiddlywinks]] ([[User talk:Tiddlywinks|talk]]) 20:18, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
::The question then becomes what will King's Rock (and the other aforementioned items) redirect to: In-battle effect item or Evolution-inducing held item? I would personally like it to redirect to the latter (as it is right now). Obviously these items don't warrant their own articles, but there should be some consistency at least. Expanding this a bit further, Full Restore generally seems to be linked with respect to Potion, but it is also featured as a Status condition healing item (for obvious reasons).
::The trippy thing is that we have a section titled "Evolution-inducing items with in-battle effects". That title's misleading as items such as the Dubious Disc and Magmarizer don't have that luxury of actually having in-battle effects. That could easily be changed of course, but if that's the case, some sort of organization will be needed for both the Evolution-inducing held item page and the In-battle effect item page. What I would suggest is that King's Rock and Razor Claw/Fang be in that "Evolution-inducing items with in-battle effects" section{{tt|*|probably changed to simply Evolution-inducing items}} and have the main template remain there.
::Hope that all makes sense... it's a lot I wrote haha. [[User:Ht14|<span style="color:#FF1111"><sup>'''''ht'''''</sup></span>]][[User talk:Ht14|<span style="color:#11BB11"><small>''14''</small></span>]] 23:04, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

== Subsections ==
I have two subsections I thought might be useful to add-One for the Seeds introduced in Gen 7 (Psychic, Misty, Grassy, and Electric), and one for the Wise Glasses and the Muscle Band, as they both power up moves of a specific category. == Deletion ==
This page was originally created to encapsulate information about held items with in-battle effects, because they didn't have their own pages. Now that they do, this page is entirely superseded by [[:Category:In-battle effect items]]. It only contains information about the items that can already be found on the item pages, and is not a helpful aggregation.
However, the history of this page is important, so in order to preserve it, I propose that we technically move this page to [[:Category:In-battle effect items]], but ultimately remove all of its content to just be a standard category page. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 13:09, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
:Even if the page is deleted, I believe the sub-categories here should have their own articles. Going through each single item through the category page would be a hassle.[[User:Trainer Yusuf|Trainer Yusuf]] ([[User talk:Trainer Yusuf|talk]]) 07:45, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
:I've been using Bulbapedia for YEARS and never bothered registering, but I did now, just to add a comment here. In my opinion, although the Category page has links to every item that is currently here, the way the information is easier to access and compare in this page makes it more comfortable to view than having to open lots of different pages. I'm on a desktop, but I believe it would be even worse on mobile if this page was deleted. Maybe the in-depth description of every item still makes it useful to have a page for each item, but this probably works better as a quick search or if someone needs a reminder on several item effects.
