Wouldn't it be useful to add something about the amount of Poffins a Pokémon can eat? So does anyone know the maximum number of Poffins before the Pokemon can't eat anymore? Tesh 15:52, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

: Pretty sure it's 12. (Although I suck at Poffin cooking, so I can only assume it's the same as Pokéblocks.) Different Poffins have differetn rates. For example, if your poffin has a smooth rate of 24, compared to a Poffin with a smooth rate of 16, the one iwth 16 will fill your Pokémon up less than the one with the smooth rate of 24. You can determine the amount of 'smooth' a Pokémon has when you check the conditions (The more stars, the furrier). Something like that. Funny you can't groom the fur out of your Pocket Monsters... <span style="color:#000080">Agent</span> <span style="color:#000080">4</span><span style="color:#000080">4</span><span style="color:#000080">8</span><span style="color:#000080">Talk</span> | <span style="color: #B0E0E6">D</span><span style="color: #FFC0CB">P</span> 05:34, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, I don't see any poffin cooking section on the berry article and it would make sense to put the info in the poffin part so I'll add some useful information on smoothness *changitychangechange* done --Wikid

I see that in the article it says that poffins can raise happiness, but nothing is mentioned in the Happiness article. What gives?

:I have the same question, because most of my fed Pokémon give the message: It happily ate the Poffin. Is it a misconception on this message?

I've noticed that the article makes no mention of Poffins in regards to Heart Gold and Soul Silver. I'm pretty sure Poffins can't be made in HG/SS since there aren't any Pokemon contests (as far as I know, anyway.) Despite this, the games still explicitly mention Poffins, particularly in the Item descriptions for all Poffin-making berries. In my opinion, it should be noted somewhere within the article that Poffins cannot be made in HG/SS. (or, if they can actually be made, the article should explain where and how to do so.) --Bananaman 22:56, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

:Why? Nothing's mentioned in the Pokéblock section about not appearing in FRLG. If anything, those topics are noted in the Pokémon Contest and Pokémon Super Contest pages. ::Poffins are not in HGSS and Pokéblocks are not in FRLG. All we need to say is that the items appear in RSE and DPPt respectively. &mdash;<span style="font-family:Verdana"><span style="color:#000">darklord</span><span style="color:#0047AB">trom</span></span> 23:01, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
But shouldn't the article mention that, despite their presence in the games, Poffin/Pokéblock berries have little to no use? Or, if that is considered to be irrelevant to the Poffin article itself, perhaps it could at least be mentioned on the pages for the beries in question.--Bananaman 23:39, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
:I think it is irrelevant to the Poffin article, and agree that it should be on the individual berry pages. They all have the bag description In the Sinnoh region, they like to make sweets known as Poffins with this Berry and feed them to their Pokémon. &mdash;<span style="font-family:Verdana"><span style="color:#000">darklord</span><span style="color:#0047AB">trom</span></span> 01:57, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Burnt Poffins
In th article there is mentioned that some Pokémon love to eat burnt Poffins. Does that depend on the Pokémon´s species, on their level or on their favourite Poffin flavor?

Nacrene Gym
Poffins are mentioned during the Gym puzzle. Should this be included in this article?? Ariano 15:49, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
You won't belive...
In the article, Trivia section, "Contrary to the popular belief, Poffins do not raise happiness", it quite puzzled me so I decided to test on my Ambipom i used Pokégen and R4 (that's not what you're thinking, I use it for research only). My Ambipom likes spicy food and then I gave it a Spicy-another flavor Poffin and then saved the game, of course I saw before giving him the Poffin that the friendship was 72, then I saved and I saw it turned 73! Maybe the game is not kidding when it says "Your Pokémon happily/disdainfully ate the Poffin", implying it does affect Friendship, contradictory with this piece of Trivia.--Igor (talk) 02:49, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
Poffin Recipe for Perfect Contest Stats
There is a recipe for Poffins which max out all your Pokémon's contest stats. Should it be added to this page? Somewhere else? Or is that the wrong kind of information for Bulbapedia? Peterpansexuell (talk) 11:51, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Smoothness in Wi-Fi Poffin cooking
According to 52Poké, the smoothness of a Poffin can be decreased if playing online and the players' strokes are aligned. (I can't read Chinese, so this is what I was able to gather via Google Translate.) I don't really have a good way to verify this now that Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection has been retired (although I do know that some fans have developed alternate Wi-Fi servers). Regardless, this is quite surprising to me, as smoothness is normally exclusively determined by the Berries and number of players, so adding a performance component to it seems unlikely. (I couldn't find any other site talking about this smoothness decrease, but there's very little in-depth coverage of Poffin cooking on any other fansite anyway.)
So for now, I've added an incomplete tag to the page. Is anyone able to confirm or debunk this possible mechanic? --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 15:06, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
