Mannes first appears during the Harvest Festival battle tournament, announcing the tournament's rules and officially kicks off the tournament. Later, he reveals that he is a descendant of the People of the Vale, and teaches {{Ash}}, {{an|Iris}}, and {{an|Cilan}} the history of Eindoak Town, and the history of the [[Kingdom of the Vale]] and how it all connects to {{mov|Victini|Victini|14}}. He, along with the other descendants, agree to allow [[Damon]] to move the [[Sword of the Vale]]. Once the Sword begins its journey, Mannes follows after it in his {{p|Klinklang}}-powered helicopter and realizes the [[Dragon Force]] has been disturbed.
