Coming up onto this Route, you have the option of challenging the Winstrate Family to a series of [[battle]]s and earning the {{DL|EV-enhancing item|Macho Brace}}, as well as seeing another battle facility— [[Trainer Hill]]. Unfortunately, you can't battle in the Trainer Hill yet. But anyway with {{m|Rock Smash}} now useable outside of battle, keep heading north on Route 111 until you reach the edge of the desert area. Turn and go west onto {{rt|112|Hoenn}} here, as you can't enter the desert without an [[Go-Googles|item]] you'll receive {{ci|Lavaridge|later}}.
